Corbet Gauthier believes that art should touch the viewer with its immediacy, drawing us to a sense of the profound. "Art is something that takes over your life and becomes such a passion that you want to keep improving. It's a nice way to reach people, and I think that's why we're all here — to spread a little pleasantness and beauty in the world." Bread of Life
Bread of Life depicts a classic moment from the life of Christ. As He blessed the bread and wine, He knew what awaited Him. Although painting Christ presents the ultimate challenge for an artist, I wanted to attempt to capture the emotion and drama of that one moment. "The idea for this painting came to me during a photo shoot for another painting when, in between takes, the model sat at a table. The lighting was perfect, and I knew I had to take advantage of the moment."
